Goals of the Minor:
The Slavic and East European Studies Minor consists of a minimum of 25 credit hours divided between departmental and extra-departmental coursework.

Prerequisites: (20 credits)
101-104 in any Slavic Language
Guidelines for the Slavic Minor:
No more than two 100-level and/or 200-level courses may be counted towards the minor.
Transfer credits and Credit by Examination (EM) credits may only account for a maximum of 5 credit hours.
Only one Russian literature course may be counted.
Occasionally other courses may be substituted with departmental permission for the courses listed above. Courses which have been approved in the past include: International Studies 230: The Rise and Fall of the Soviet Union (5 credits); International Studies 231: Introduction to Eastern Europe since World War II (5 credits); Polish 409: Adv. Polish Conversation and Composition (5 credits); any Slavic or East European language at the 580, 581, 582 level (1-3 credits each); and Slavic H583: Cinderella's Fantasy: Gender and Women in Western and Eastern Europe (5 credits).
