Nina Haviernikova receives College of Humanities Graduate Research Small Grant

Congratulations to Nina Haviernikova, who was recently awarded a College of Humanities Graduate Small Research Grant in the sum of $400! These awards will be put toward financing her research trip to Slovakia this summer.

Nina's research concerns contemporary spoken Slovak language and language change due to language and dialect contact. During her research trip, she plan to interview a number of speakers from a dialectal area in western Slovakia to build a base for future research of this topic, hopefully resulting in a dissertation topic.
