Jennifer
Suchland, Assistant Professor of Slavic Studies and Women's Studies
My research focuses on issues of law, the state, gender and sexuality in the context of postsocialisms. I have written on sexual harassment in Russia and feminist methodologies in the context of transnational politics and violence. My work is grounded in feminist and political theory and often focuses on "the political" as cultural artifact. I am also interested in the interconnections of postsocialism and postcolonialism, particularly as they work as discourses of global critique and geopolitical subjectivity.
