Founder, president and editor of Slavica Publishers, Inc., 1966-1997.
During that time Slavica published 250 book titles in the fields
of Slavic and East European linguistics, languages, literature,
bibliography, history, and folklore, and over 60 issues of four
journals. Slavica is the largest publisher in the Western
Hemisphere of scholarly books and textbooks in the fields of
Slavic languages and linguistics.

Structure of Modern Russian.
History of the Russian language.
Comparative Slavic linguistics.
Medieval Slavic texts.
South Slavic linguistics.
Bulgarian, Russian, and Serbo-Croato-Bosnian languages.
Old Church Slavonic, Macedonian, Slovenian, and Czech languages for
reading only.
Culture of the Balkan Slavs (elementary survey).
