Naylor Lecture: John Leafgren

 The annual Kenneth E. Naylor Lecture in South Slavic Linguistics will be given on April 1, 2016 by John Leafgren (University of Arizona). 

This year, Dr. Leafgrean will present "Do We Really Write in a More Complex Way than We Speak? The Case of Bulgarian". Dr. Leafgren received a B.A. in Russian and in History at Knox College in 1985, and an M.A. (1987) and a Ph.D. (1992) in Slavic Linguistics at the University of Virginia, with a doctoral dissertation on “Object Reduplication and Topicality in Bulgarian”. After teaching briefly at the University of Virginia and the University of Kansas, Professor Leafgren joined the Department of Russian and Slavic Studies at the University of Arizona in 1994, where he is currently Associate Professor and Department Head.
