Slavic & East European Minor

We are glad you are thinking of minoring in Slavic and East European Languages and Cultures!  Our minor allows you to focus on a single culture or to develop a broad knowledge of several cultures in the region.  You can choose from a wide array of languages in which you will develop a Novice High or Intermediate Low proficiency, which will enable you to handle survival topics and a range of everyday communicative tasks in straightforward social situations.  In addition, you will take coursework to increase your appreciation and understanding of your chosen culture(s), develop your analytical skills, and give you an international outlook.  The minor consists of four classes — second-year, second semester in your chosen language and 3 electives selected from a variety of literature and culture courses.
