Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. Congratulations to Andrew Kier, who successfully defended his dissertation on December 28, 2012!

The dissertation is titled "The semantics of Russian 'about' prepositions: A corpus-based study". The committee consisted of Prof. Daniel Collins (chair), Prof. Charles Gribble, and Prof. Brian Joseph.

The newly minted Dr. Kier is currently working as a metadata specialist and cataloguer at the Online Computer Library Center (OCLC) in Dublin, Ohio, but he plans to look for a position as a subject specialist at an academic library.

Well done, Andy, and good luck to you in the future!
