Here at the Slavic Department, we wanted to extend a well-deserved congratulations to our four new Ph.D. students, Siobhán Seigne, Enes Tastan, Michelle Verbitskaya, and Lejla Veskovic!

 

Our students help make the Slavic Department the best place on campus! We look forward to seeing continued growth and academic excellence from these new Ph.Ds.

 

Congrats and keep up the great work

 

  • Siobhán Seigne is studying Feminist Literary Criticism, and Russian language, literature, and culture
  • Enes Tastan's focuses are on Russian linguistics and 19th century Russian literature
  • Michelle Verbitskaya is working on second language acquisition, teacher training, and curriculum development
  • Lejla Veskovic studies Russian language and literature, Bosnian-Croation-Serbian-Montenegrin language and literature, as well as pop culture, politics, and literature in the former Yugoslavia.
