Spring Tea - Recap!

Thank you to everyone who came out to our Spring Tea Celebration on Monday! There was a great turnout and plenty of great food and treats.
Congratulations to all the winners of many prestigious awards, recognitions, and funding!
The summer is the time to rest and recoup, and we wish you a peaceful and relaxing break. To those of you who are traveling, please send us pictures and updates – we will post your story on our socials!
We highly encourage you to keep practicing your Russian over the summer, no matter which level you are studying. There are many opportunities this Fall that will be available to help you settle back in and improve your language skills more comprehensively!
- Please consider signing up for Russian 3140 or 7150 (upper level), our 1-cr Russian conversation classes. These meet once a week and focus on speaking and conversational skills.
- Similarly, we are offering our new 1200-level classes, which are also 1-cr, Pass/Fail and focus on themes like posters, poetry and propaganda, film, phonetics and more! If you have an hour or two free in your Fall schedule, consider adding one of these low-stakes courses – you’ll love them.
- Finally, we invite undergraduate and graduate students with advanced Russian to sign up for a very special course we are offering this Fall. This one-time offering features Dr. Ivan Kurilla, teaching in Russian, Russian-American Relations in the Past and Present. Please see the course description below, including our note on class times. We originally scheduled this class for 11:10, but it seems there may be some time conflicts for interested students. We opened another section at 2:20pm, and plan to close the 11:10 section – let us know if this is preferable for you!
This is a unique opportunity to study with Dr. Kurilla. To learn more about him, check out the info below:
