World Language Filmathon!
Are you interested in storytelling, filmmaking, language learning, or creative collaboration? Consider participating in the World Language Filmathon!
The World Language Filmathon is a collaborative, project-based learning experience in which students work in teams to create and present an original short film in a target language. Throughout the program, participants gain hands-on experience with storytelling, script development, filming, editing, and creative project management before showcasing their work at a public presentation event.
Participants will have the opportunity to:
- Strengthen their language proficiency through authentic, real-world language use.
- Develop intercultural competence and creative communication skills.
- Learn from industry pros
- Gain experience in teamwork, project management, and digital media production.
- Create portfolio-ready work that can support graduate school, internship, and employment applications.
- Showcase their talents and compete for prizes in a supportive, interdisciplinary environment.
The Filmathon will launch on October 19, 2026, with the final presentation taking place on November 19, 2026. The application deadline is October 12, 2026.
